So you've returned from your exchange - now what? You are now a YFU Alumni!

Alumni are involved in all aspects of the YFU program, such as promoting, volunteering, and hosting. Here are a few of the ways you can get involved with YFU:
  • We are always looking for more student stories to share with prospective applicants, so let us know about your experience!
  • Become a volunteer. Visit the Volunteer page to find out what opportunities are available and to get an application.
  • Consider hosting. Your host family abroad made the exchange amazing, so why not do that same for someone coming to your country?
  • Talk to people. The best way to promote something is through word of mouth, so tell everyone about your exchange, and encourage others to apply!

"If there's anything I wanted to emphasize about the exchange is that it's never a year wasted (regardless of what your peers may think).
You will never be as young and impressionable as you are now, the responsibilities you have will only increase from now.
Opportunities to immerse yourself in a new culture, language and family don't come by often.
If you can afford to, in both the sense of time and money, and you're ready to be challenged, I urge you to take the risk. I wouldn't trade my experience for anything.
